Wanna sew a last-minute, gorgeous Christmas Dress? 🎄You still have time, as this is a two to three hours sewing project. Follow the recipe :)
Ingredients:
- Our #DAPHNIEDRESS Pattern
- Fabric with a festive look like Velvet or Satin, about 2-2,5 meters / 80-95 inches
- Matching thread
- Matching invisible zipper
Instructions:
- Print the pattern and cut the pieces
- Finish all fabric edges with a serger
- Sew the bust darts
- Sew the invisible zipper at the center back and close rest center back seam
- Sew to attach the shoulders of the dress and of the facing
- Attach neck facing on neckline
- Sew the pockets
- Close the side seams
- Sew the sleeve seams and attach them on the dress
- Finish all hems

Ecologicaly, in this age of fast fashion the carbon footprint of clothing mass production is grater than that of international sea and air traffic combined, while it produces more than 92 million tonnes of waist every wear! Home sewing is a revolution which gives an alternative at this crazy situation! All of us, home sewers do our part for moving consumer culture in a more sustainable direction. We create individual garments just for ourselves, sewing the amount of pieces that we’ll actually use while we reduce our consumption from the modern clothing industry.

Ethicaly, when we sew our clothes we know that they are not made through the expolitation practices that big clothing companies follow in order to produce cheaply, quickly and as much as possible.

#LYDIASKIRT is a mini Balloon Skirt Pattern for playful outfits. Since it’s still a very hot Summer here in Greece, I’ve styled it up with my one shoulder #SANDYTOP Pattern and heavy boots. Nevertheless, it can be worn all wear round!
.
It features a shaped yoke which accentuates waistline, while has a voluminous, bubble-like skirt part. This look is achieved by sewing the gathered hem on a self fabric lining, which pulls the outer fabric inwards, creating the puffy appearance.
.
To tell the truth, it was my teenage daughter’s idea to add this design at the collection and she’s already wearing the pattern sample :).

I’m taking a break enjoying a few days of holidays at the beautiful island Crete of Greece. I think that everyone should visit this awesome island at least once! There are unbelievable beaches with crystal waters, rich land with trees (we saw an avocado tree 25 meters high) and fragrant plants. Delicious gastronomy using mostly local products is found in every corner (my diet plan is totally ruined) :)
